Description
Netorian is seeking an Information Assurance (IA) Engineer (SATCOM).
Position Type: Full-time.
Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.
Location: Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, MD (must work on-site).
Other: Must possess at minimum SECRET security clearance with Top Secret obtainable. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related, relevant field.
- 8570 Compliance IAT Level II or higher (active Security+, SSCP, or CCNA required).
Experience:
Required:
- Four (4) years of experience in DoD/Federal Government Support sector with focus on information security.
- Experience working on DISA STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) implementation across multiple operating systems and applications.
- Knowledge of Army DCO (Defense Connect Online) applications (HBSS, McAfee ESM, and ACAS) and their use across the tactical Army.
- Three (3) years of Windows systems administration experience.
- Three (3) years of Linux systems administration experience.
- One (1) year of experience with McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) and experience working with McAfee’s suite of HBSS tools.
Preferred:
- Expert knowledge of federal security requirements and mandates – RMF, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), and National Standards of Information Technology (NIST).
- Knowledge of WIN-T or similar DoD Tactical Systems
- Experience handling Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA).
- Experience with incident analysis/handling.
Duties:
- Serve as the Information Assurance (IA) Engineer for Transportable Tactical Command Communications (T2C2) program.
- Test and apply DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), IAVAs, SRRS, anti-virus updates, and other required security controls within Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, VMware ESXi, and Cisco network devices and other platforms.
- Research, test, and evaluate cybersecurity system architecture in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53, Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework, and Army eMASS policies.
- Perform tactical cyber security testing and evaluation planning using threat penetration teams, cyber security vulnerability analysis, computer hardware, systems software, and computer system architecture and integration.
- Identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements.
- Assist IA Lead with authorization and accreditation (A&A) and Approval to Operate (ATO) documentation to ensure the systems are operated and maintained in accordance with security plans.
- Work closely with Software Development Team and Network Team to resolve technical issues.
- Assist Network Architect with evaluating new technologies and the developing recommendations for upgrading or replacing existing solutions to keep up with technology trends and industry best practices.
