Commercial Link Support

Netorian is currently recruiting for one (1) Commercial Link Support Engineer to join our team in Afghanistan as the in-country network and system administrators to support United States Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) under the Command, Control, Communications, Computers Information Technology (C4 IT) Services contract.

Job Description: The Commercial Link Support Engineers will:

• Maintain oversite of link termination points of presence on all sites across the CJOA-A.
• Ensure all network equipment is installed and maintained according to manufacturer specifications and industry best practices, this shall include associated towers and support facilities.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with the JNOSC-A and local vendors in order to minimize impact to military operations.
• Maintain an operations center that monitors and troubleshoots all intra-theater networks; operations center shall also be able to respond to inquiries about service from the JNOSC-A.
• Coordinate all escort duties and responsibilities inherent to local national subcontractors per post policies (site specific).
• Respond to a critical outage within 30 minutes for the following requirements: knowledge of network architectures and designs, to include modems, switches, routers, microwave systems, military and commercial cabling, electrical, cooling, rigging, and information assurance and security.
• Provide for any transmission, bandwidth errors, program management issues, or responsibilities required for commercial contracts.
• Plan and execute site and node center construction, as needed.
• Provide assistance with coordination of fiber assets as needed.
• Provide technical assistance and engineer solutions to improve services.
• Coordinate with NETOPS to ensure all new commercial links are captured in the network monitoring tools.       

This position is based in Afghanistan. The Commercial Link Support Engineers will work 72 hours a week, 7 days a week and be on call 24/7.

Skills and Detailed Experience Required:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience dealing with implementing Microwave Line of Sight (MLoS) transport technologies
• Minimum of 1 year of experience dealing with implementing cellular networks and communications
• Minimum of 1 year of experience dealing with implementing fiber networks and communications  

Additional Qualifications:

• TS/SCI clearance required. 

• Detail-oriented with technical, verbal, and written communication skills

Education:

• High School Diploma
