​Netorian has an opening for a Field Systems Engineer/Test Lead (WIN-T).

Description:

The Field Systems Engineer/Test Lead provides field and test support of PM Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) Joint Network Node (JNN) system.

Candidates for this position must be able to demonstrate the ability to work with, and coordinate efforts between, multiple organizations in support of JWICS design, testing, and integration with DIA and other various government agencies and identities while deployed in forward theatres.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serves as Network Systems Engineer and Site Lead. 
  • Implements multiple, large scale, dynamic, secure, non-secure, and commercial networks providing service to both tactically and strategically placed Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN).
  • Provides technical and logistics expertise related to network configurations and performance.
  • Works with customer representatives (via teleconference and daily meetings) to ensure that schedules are met.
  • Serves as FSR during engineering tests, military exercises, and logistics demonstrations. 
  • Manages onsite engineers, FSRs (field service representatives), and work priorities to ensure that all logistics concerns are satisfied.
  • Coordinates efforts of all personnel involved in the final quality assurance phase prior to equipment hand-off.
  • Assists in establishing individual unit network optimization and maintenance routines.
  • Advises the customer on workarounds and network configuration changes designed to optimize performance.
  • Performs network-wide performance monitoring, analysis, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Provides technical support to military units for operation and maintenance of JNN system and Regional Hub Node. 
  • Troubleshoots hardware issues using software and testing equipment to analyze link bit error rates (BER), routing, and hardware reliability. 
  • Provides advanced on-site developmental and operational support, training, and guidance.
Routinely works with:
  • Cisco devices and software, including: Call Manager (VoIP, i.e. voice over IP) platforms, firewalls, routers, switches, and VTC (video teleconference) equipment.
  • Network monitoring and maintenance software and platforms, including: SolarWinds, HP OpenView, and FireBerd 8000.
  • Intrusion prevention devices (IPS).
  • Promina Mux (multiplexer/multiservice access platform).
  • Multiple fault isolation.
  • McAfee Anti-Virus.
  • REDCOM.
  • Working knowledge of mGRE tunneling and DMVPN technology from Cisco (core WIN-T concepts).
Experience:
  • Five (5) Years experience or more minimum.
  • Twelve (12) years required without degree.
Certifications:
  • Required:  Network+ and Security+ or CCNA
  • Desired:  CCNP or higher (CCIE)​
Education:

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
