Netorian is currently recruiting for seven (7) Audio/Visual VTC Technicians to join our team in Afghanistan as the in-country network and system administrators to support United States Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) under the Command, Control, Communications, Computers Information Technology (C4 IT) Services contract.

Job Description: The Audio/Visual and VTC Technicians will:

  • Support the installation, inspection, repair, operation and maintenance of all current A/V and VTC systems residing on the USFOR-A owned segment of Bagram Air Field and other A/V systems throughout the CJOA-A as directed by USFOR-A managers.
  • Manage the required meeting rooms that support USFOR-A A/V and VTC equipment, conduct scheduling of the rooms, ensure the rooms are operational prior to any meetings or events, and provide assistance as necessary.
  • Coordinate with appropriate computer/network help desks to ensure proper performance of systems attached to the A/V and VTC systems by submitting trouble tickets to facilitate fix actions on end-user equipment.
  • Account for all equipment on the theater property book accounting and financial inventory system.
  • Support Tandberg MCUs, Cisco Videoconferencing 3500 series, Tandberg 1000 Desktop VTC Units, Tandberg 1700 Desktop VTC Units, Tandberg 6000 & 8000 VTC equipment.
  • Support for special events on Bagram and other areas within the CJOA-A.
  • Coordinate with the Contractors Program Manager to facilitate the return of all items under warranty to their appropriate repair facility, as well as, the re-shipment and reintegration of said equipment back to its originating location.
  • Assist users in the operation and set up of audio visual (A/V) and VTC equipment utilized in day-to-day operations and collaboration.
  • Provide users with training on work stations, auxiliary equipment, and end-user equipment.
  • Operate and maintain the central VTC control hub and VTC suites;
    • testing and troubleshooting VTC links;
    • coordinating troubleshooting and maintenance of other network devices to prevent VTC disruption;
    • maintaining configurations and settings for ancillary equipment that support the VTC network; and
    • submitting work orders and turning-in faulty equipment for repair or replacement.
  • Familiar with software and hardware components of Cisco and Polycom VTC systems to include Cisco TelePresence Management Suite, Video Communications Server, Gatekeepers, Cisco Jabber, Polycom Real Presence Desktop, and various Cisco and Polycom end points
  • Familiar with Cisco processes to include: RMA (Return Materials Authorization) program, licensing coverage of various Telepresence systems, software licensing renewals, software licensing updates, and Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) program


This position is based in Afghanistan. The Audio/Visual and VTC Technicians will work 72 hours a week, and be on call 24/7.

Skills and Detailed Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the A/V or VTC field, to include engineering, design, support, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of related equipment
  • Minimum of one (1) year of combined experience working with ALL of the installation and maintenance of the following Audio Visual equipment:
    • CineMassive Video Walls systems,
    • Planar Video Wall systems,
    • Extron Video Matrix Systems,
    • BIAMP Audio Systems,
    • AMX A/V Systems,
    • Crestron Control Systems,
    • Shure and Clearone Audio Systems,
    • JOC Bridge,
    • VTC room,
    • Commanders Conference Room (CCR) or Situational Awareness Room (SAR).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience and understanding of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) architecture
  • Demonstrated experience with VTC meeting and room scheduling software (Meeting Room Manager, Outlook and LANDesk is preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and operate various types of fully integrated computer-based systems with minimal oversight, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and excellent customer service skills  

Additional Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI clearance required. 
  • Detail-oriented with technical, verbal, and written communication skills
