Location:
- Employees are required to reside within 50 miles of duty location. Locations include: Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD; Fort Carson, CO; Fort Polk, LA; Fort Drum, NY; Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Campbell, KY; JBLM, WA; Fort Bliss, TX.
Travel and Special Requirements:
- Travel required. Specific requirements will vary.
- Positions may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.

Education Required:
- Applicants must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar science equivalent.
- Degree can be substituted by 10+ years’ experience in configuring and/or maintaining WIN-T equipment.
Experience and Qualifications:
Required:
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and methodologies to include military network and communications systems engineering.
- Knowledge of WIN-T systems, to include the JNN, Cisco routers, switches, ASA firewalls, CallManager, and IP voice networks, is required.
Desired:
- Knowledge in network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, SharePoint, and other user services.
- Specialized experience gained performing work as an engineer in industry or as an active, reserve or National Guard unit.
- Experienced in PdM Network Modernization products.
- Experience in acquisition (Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering [SPRDE]).
Description of Duties:
- Serve as focal point and subject matter expert for the Program Manager Tactical Networks as a Field Systems Engineer in support for PdM Network Modernization, INC 1, INC 2, and SATCOM networks.
- Identify and report problems and discrepancies to the Project Manager (PM) or headquarters functional managers.
- Recommend resolutions when unable to resolve problems.
- Manage and document systems configurations, trouble incidents, test procedures, and test execution/results.
- Be able to configure, validate and test any Tactical Networks systems delivered to units.
- Exercise technical leadership to obtain agreement on required actions, schedules and the resolution of conflicting points of view concerning support operations and Tactical Networks systems.
- Coordinate system development tasks with other program System Engineering leads based on integration challenges and/or new requirements.
- Provide systems engineering oversight of the development of development and testing of SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software development.
- Coordinate across the embedded support team to obtain concurrence and to implement plans of action to accomplish PM objectives.
- Represent the PM Tactical Network at planning conferences conducted by the Unit or other organizations.
- Collaborate with leadership and representatives from stakeholder organizations at all levels in order to coordinate and/or integrate PM operations and objectives.
- Develop and present briefings as required unit personnel regarding current status of Systems Engineering and Network Architecture planning, and/or test efforts. Support network planning, network set up, configuration, troubleshooting and testing as well as teardown.
- Work closely with unit CFSRs and S6 staff as well as other personnel to coordinate activities.
