Network Operations Event Controller

Netorian is currently recruiting for one (1) Network Operations Event Controller to join our team in Afghanistan as the in-country network and system administrators to support United States Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A) under the Command, Control, Communications, Computers Information Technology (C4 IT) Services contract.

Job Description: The Incident Handling Technician will:

• Ensure all JNOSC-A managed systems and circuits are monitored.
• When outages or incidents occur, lead a team to mitigate initial operational impact to USFOR-A missions and systems
• Resolve the outage or incident.
• Investigate, report and track any unscheduled network outages.
• Handle incidents either detected by network monitoring software or called in from network customers to ensure the best possible response.
• Conduct network outage monitoring on Tier-0, Tier-1, and Tier-2 networks and alert parties responsible for troubleshooting, gathering updates, and producing reports for situational awareness of network status.
• Conduct bandwidth utilization, packet loss, link connectivity and STIG analysis when requested by military personnel.
• Provide recommendations for Quality-of-Service (QoS) and load balancing.
• Respond and action all incidents in accordance with USFOR-A and CENTCOM policy.  

This position is based in Afghanistan. The Incident Handling Technician will work 72 hours a week, Sunday - Saturday, available on-call 24/7.

Skills and Detailed Experience Required:

• Minimum of one (1) year experience working as a Network Event Controller
• Demonstrate at least one (1) year experience with Solar Winds
• Maintain DOD 8570.1-M compliance for IAT Level II
• Certificated in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching
• Obtain CCNA Security no later than 6 months after being offered the position.

Additional Qualifications:

• SECRET clearance required. 

• Detail-oriented with technical, verbal, and written communication skills

• High School Diploma
