Netorian is seeking a Compliance Specialist.

Netorian is seeking a Compliance Specialist to support our efforts with the Maryland State Board of Elections and their Audit and Enforcement Unit (AEU). This unit supports campaign finance by performing audits, closure requests, and investigations for members of the public, various committees, and other stakeholders.

The Compliance Specialist will provide administrative and organizational assistance to the Division, supporting the AEU supervisor and auditor in pipeline management, coordination, organization, data entry, and other administrative functions. This role will serve as a primary point of contact for complaints and investigations and perform various administrative and clerical functions.

Clearance:

  • Successful candidate must be able to pass a Background Check.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications:

General:

  • Must have three (3) years of experience working with management tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Suite. 

Preferred:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel to include use of Pivot Tables, formulas, cell references, conditional formatting, etc.
  • Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and the security protocols for the transfer of PII data.
  • Pipeline management.
  • Data entry.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Must have particularly good organizational skills.
  • Must be able to effectively manage the tasks assigned.
  • Works well as part of a team and on independent assignments.
  • Must be an excellent communicator verbally and in written form.
  • Must be extremely responsive and punctual.
  • Customer service.

Description of Work:

Activities, as directed by the respective functional area leads, include but are not limited to:

  • Pipeline management for complaints and investigations including logging complaints, investigating, correspondence with committees, stakeholders, and leadership, assessing fees/penalties, follow up, and maintenance of the list of letters.
  • Coordinating, organizing, and keeping track of data sets from various sources (e.g., other agencies, Office of State Prosecutor, campaign committees, and other members of the public) being used by SBE staff to perform analysis and produce reports.
  • Assisting with completing reconciliations, correspondences, and administrative corrections for committees with cash/bank balance discrepancies.
  • Assisting with correspondences for officer vacancies.
  • Preparing accurate and timely statistics for the Board of Elections and Leadership regarding violation progress, payments received, and other requests.
  • Assisting with review of closure requests and issuance of non-compliance letters.
  • Assisting with administrative functions including copying, scanning, answering phone calls, filing, etc. 
  • Assisting with the management of incoming emails from committees and providing appropriate responses.
  • Assisting with the transmitting of secured and unsecure data sets outside SBE via the available methods.
  • Providing verbal and written status reports for each of the different work efforts.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite components such as Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Other Program Administration related duties as assigned.
